I am a smoothie addict. I admit it. I don’t drink coffee, and I have only an occasional tea – it’s smoothies that have my favor forever. I illustrated a bunch of my favorite recipes last year and put them on my other blog, and I think it’s time to start sharing them here, too. So, today’s featured smoothie is:
Strawberry Coconut …
I usually make enough for the whole family, which is why the recipe says it makes a pitcher full. Any leftovers I pour in a cup and store in the freezer. I warm it up slightly in hot water to loosen it and add it in the next smoothie the following day. Sometimes I’ll want to make an entirely different recipe, but I’ll throw it in anyway – because sometimes you just have to live on the edge.
Banana’s are usually my base, and then I go from there, depending on what I’m in the mood for. Lately I’ve been throwing in cold water soluble gelatin for protein (and I hear it’s great for your skin, too). I add ice, because I like a thick icy consistency, but that’s up to you. You can use all frozen fruit and less liquid, if your blender can handle it, and get an almost milkshake-like thickness. Play around with it.
