Tips for Successful Storyboarding for Illustrators

Right now I’m investigating tips and tricks in successful storyboarding.

Let me share them with you.

1. Let’s start with a handy tip from eHow. Create model sheets for each major character to keep the characters consistent throughout each shot.

2. Establishing the shot.

3. Line of action

4. Staging and Design.

(Storyboard Secrets is chalk full of great tips).

5.Storyboarding, or the Picture Book Dummy
This applies to picture books as much as it does to animation. Check out this tutorial by Uri Shulevitz.

6. And I link I found with a bunch of resources. 500 storyboard tutorials (because you know, you have so much time on your hands). A lot of the links are things related to storyboarding, like drawing techniques, software, etc.

Welp, that’s it for now. I’ll be combing through these and applying some of this great advice. Do you have any great storyboarding tips to share?
