Mint Chocolates for Your Sweetheart

Ah, chocolate. To love and be loved – all is better where chocolate is involved. Particularly mint chocolate. That’s a match made in heaven, right there. With Love Day just around the bend, you may want to have a few quick and easy, but oh-so-full-of-love, recipes on hand.  For this recipe, 5 ingredients are all you need.
Mint Chocolate Sweethearts
Makes 14-16

4oz Bakers Semi-Sweet Chocolate (half a box)
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 – 1 TBSP milk
2 drops green food coloring
I used two pyrex measuring cups in a saucepan, half full with water, to melt the chocolate.
For the white/mint chocolate, once the chips are melted, add the peppermint extract. It’ll thicken up the texture immediately. Add the milk – up to 1 TBSP. I wouldn’t use more than that, as it softens the chocolate. I used 1 TBSP and the chocolate set, but remained soft, a nice contrast to the harder semi-sweet chocolate. If you are using a chocolate mold that is more detailed and intricate, use less milk.  Don’t forget to add the food coloring if you want the minty color.

Layer the chocolate in the mold, mint mixture first. Put in the freezer for at least 20 minutes.
Pop them out and there you have delicious sweet treats for your lover. Do you have a favorite recipe you like to make to show your love? Share your link in the comments.
