It always boggles the mind how hectic things get nearing the end of the school year. It’s like life is two big cycles of madness – one around the winter holidays and again mid year with the wrap up of school. So, in the interest of efficiency, here are some of my Urban Sketches from the end of April and much of May. All of them were done in and around Montreal. Most are ink and watercolour, but the last two include guache and pastel on coloured paper. Yes, I am trying new-to-me things. Woohoo! Just click on them to enlarge.
Want a personalized painting? Hire me. I’m a really nice girl.
- I am open to commissioned work – if you are around Montreal and want me to sketch a place that is near and dear to you, contact me and let’s talk.
- Alternatively, I am open to sketching from a photograph (or traveling if you are super keen to have me come and want to pay for my transportation :)). Just give me a holler and let’s talk.
- I am running an Urban Sketching camp for kids in early July in the St-Henri borough where we will explore some watercolour and perspective drawing techniques and even a little history about the areas we visit and sketch. Sketching outside is a hoot! Send me your children. Find more details here.
- Let me know if you would like me to run a workshop in your area. Watercolour and pen techniques, travel-sketchbook making, sketch-tourism, urban sketch crawls with your friends/colleagues and family – the possibilities are vast and exciting. See your surroundings in more detail than you’ve ever noticed before ; contact me to book an event.
